What's Developing

Some friends recently purchased a cabin up in the North Georgia mountains, and this weekend I went up to check it out and take some pictures they wanted of it. I have to say — I have a major respect now for professional architecture photographers. Trying to balance the ambient natural light, and the strobe lights, the color balance, managing reflections, and bringing the contrast to a point where the camera could record detail was pretty tough. It was a good challenge, and I learned some new techniques, but I definitely respect those who are out doing this kind of work every day!

After a whole lot of hard work, I’m very proud to announce the new version of my web site! Major thanks go out to Twinsparc for the visual design of the site, and doing a lot of work to make everything just right. Among the major new features of the site is my new portfolio, which is going to be evolving into what I want the final product to be. I’ve also added this weblog, and a mailing list (don’t worry — no spam, just occasional messages from me when there’s something exciting and new to share). Thanks to everyone who has supported me in putting this together, and who has helped with all the testing that went into getting it just right.

Rosalind and Mark’s Engagement

My friends Rosalind and Mark were kind enough to invite me to their engagement party last weekend, and of course I had the camera in tow. The lighting was challenging, but I think I managed to grab some good snapshots. They’re getting married in September down in the US Virgin Islands — I can’t imagine a better spot! Congratulations Roz and Mark!
